A NEW CLASS OF TRAINING SHIP FOR FUTURE MARINERS.

Glosten is working with TOTE Services to provide plan review and construction oversight for the Maritime Administration’s new state-of-the-art National Security Multi-Mission Vessels (NSMVs). Philly Shipyard is building five of these ships, which will be used to train US mariners throughout the nation. These next-generation training vessels will also be capable of supporting humanitarian assistance and disaster relief missions.

GUIDING A SUCCESSFUL BUILD.

At the outset of the project, Vessel Construction Manager TOTE Services engaged Glosten to assist with procurement processes from pre-bid contract development through shipyard selection. This work included a review of the NSMVs’ guidance design, modification of outline specifications, technical review of bids, and the evaluation of modifications to the guidance design made by the winning bidder. The first NSMV is slated for delivery in 2023. Glosten has continued our technical support of the project through the detailed design phase and into construction.
