A refreshing alternative to the increasingly common “do-it-all” tug, the SA-80 provides a practical combination of design elements to make it highly versatile without watering down its primary ship assist function. While the SA-80 has been optimized for assist work, we have preserved the ability to make up alongside and tow astern, with or without a tow winch.
The SA-80 can be outfitted with a variety of different propulsion system options to achieve bollard pull of at least 70 metric tons, including CAT 3516E diesel engines and Schottel SRP460 Z-drive units. With a design waterline length of 78 feet, this handy-sized tug is nimble yet powerful, making it a smart choice for busy or confined waterways.
