Global Class, Fisheries

Our Global Class Fisheries research vessel was developed to support a combination of general-purpose and fisheries research worldwide. It features an Azipod propulsion system in lieu of conventional propellers to provide increased maneuverability and dynamic positioning capability. Designed to meet DNV Silent R, the vessel is quieter to operate and produces less underwater radiated noise. It also includes a gondola and twin retractable centerboards to achieve better performance from transducers and other key sensors.

To support general science and fisheries research, this research vessel has a full suite of equipment including an A-frame, winches, and trawl equipment. A science hold was built into the deck for container storage, and a Baltic Room with a current temperature density (CTD) handling system allows for safer operation of this mainstay of oceanographic research. Labs provide specialized spaces for research and can be reconfigured to accommodate a range of efforts, including fisheries work.

Each of our vessel concept designs is fully customizable. Contact us to learn more and find out how this design can be adapted to meet the demands of your operation.
