The ET-125 is a large and powerful tug that has been optimized for ship escort work and nearshore rescue towing. It is the only Z-drive true tractor design available under 200 gross registered tons, allowing the vessel to be crewed by just two licensed officers and two deckhands. It has a deep skeg hull form and a propulsion system capable of generating over 100 metric tons of bollard pull in direct mode. This pairing results in extremely high braking and steering forces when working indirect. At 125 feet in length, the tug is also able to achieve a free running speed over 13 knots. These features, combined with the vessel’s high bow and foc’sle deck design, lend additional capability for nearshore rescue towing service.
