This monohull research vessel with twin L-drive stern thrusters was carefully arranged to maximize areas dedicated to ROV science missions. The main deck offers a designated ROV control room, an ROV hanger with overhead launch and recovery system (LARS) and a weathertight pantograph door, and a dedicated traction winch with generous umbilical drum storage.
In addition to ROV operations, the concept is equipped with a dedicated CTD winch and LARS, stern A-frame, and folding knuckle-boom main crane. The overboard handling equipment is capable of deployment and recovery of CTD rosettes, autonomous underwater vehicles, support boats, free-floating instruments, and moorings.
